During the years he released his work in labels like Hexx9 Records, EK4T3, Cian Orbe & Cursed Monk Records. Beign Part of tons of v/a compilations, like the midnight radio compilations, Black Mara records, Noctivagant collective between others.
Also collaborationg with artist of the dark ambient & experimental music scene like Occult Odyssey, STAHLSCHLAG, Eisenlager , Ruairi O'Baoighill & others.
- What is the meaning of your artist/project name?
- "Sona Nyl" & "Cathuria" monikers was taken from H. P. Lovecraft universe
- "El Prêtro Maniaco" comes from a friend because of my passion for european 70's horror movies and my surname Leprêtre.
- "Otto Van Kleist" (aka OVK) is an evil character from a Mario Bava movie.
- Finally "Evolva" my most recent project, is to represent my evolution from dark music to something more positive.
I also make 80's kitchy covers under the name of "Jean-Michel Jalle" just for fun. My friend Qiluem found this one because I play synths and lived at the gates of a river called "La Jalle". So it's a funny reference to Jean-Michel Jarre.
- Which is the concept behind your music project, how you categorize your own music?
My will is to help people who suffer. Sometimes it's hard to believe because of my early very dark works. But the message behind my music is to show that you can transcend suffering by making music as a cure.
- Do you release music only under your main project? do you have other active or past music projects or monikers?
Sorry for I already answered to this question upper 😅. But I need to separate my music in different projects because I love so many genres. I can do dark ambient as well as dancing electro or disco covers.
- Favorite music genres??
80's music, soundtracks from 70's european movies and old anime, metal (from glam to death)...
- in what year did you start making music? which was your first band/project?
I started at the age of 12 alone in my bedroom playing electric guitar. Recording with headphones on tapes. Thereafter I was playing in a band called "Hic Jacet" (1rst demo available on GodHatesGod records).

- Which inspiration you have from the place where you live? There's some inspiration from your country in your music?
I love nature and folklore. Sometimes my inspiration comes from it. Walking in the woods… Sometimes from a movie I saw… or from life events.
- Which are your favorite visual/plastic artists who inspire your work?
Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci. They have a very aesthetic approach in film making. I love their work.
- How do you see the current Underground music scene of the music genre that you are involved?
As I don't consider to be involved in such a genre, I don't think I'm able to answer. I don't have much contacts in the music scene as I'm a very shy person. And I don't want to belong to a genre and be its prisoner.
- Favorite popular & also underground composers/music projects?
So many !! And it depends on so many things. As I'm doing this interview I listen to a lot of death metal (Benediction, Obituary, Cancer, Massacra…), Italo Disco (Spagna, Plastic Mode, Modern Talking…).
- Do you make live performances? If you do, can you talk us about the experience?
I used to when I was guitar payer or DJ. But now I do not. But never say never 😉
- Which is your favorite song/composition and album created by yourself?
My favorite song is my remix for Mater Suspiria Vision "Baba Yaga". I remember saying to Cosmotropia De Xam "I want to make it sound like an old Kim Wilde song" 😅 and he says "oh yeah let's do it !" 😅. I'm very proud of it. Turned a witch house tune to a neo new-wave hit 😅 link:

My favorite album is my Evolva "AuralDreams" (Ek4t3) because it's a positive one. I was down but made something for good.
- Tell us about the concept & the creation process of one of your latest EP / ALBUM
For Evolva, the process was to transcend myself. To find the will to present beautiful and naive music. To let my darkest side sleep and be proud of my brightest. The album is synthetic, aerial, rythmic and esoteric with a taste of new-wave music.

- Tell us about the underground music scene in your city, and which are your favorite artists from your country?
Is there underground music where I live ? I don't know. I'm a very solitary person. Sorry I don't have much to say for your question…
- As active musician, What inspire you to create more and more content? From where you find the inspiration for be a music creator?
Everything inspires. At the moment, I'm working on a soundtrack for a book about vampires. Music is everywhere in my life. I remember as a child, I used to create melodies in my head everytime. Like the soundtrack of my life. Like if I was living a movie. Inspiration is everywhere.
- Any anecdote that you want to share with us in the creation of some track?
For the "Abandonned places" split with Filmy Ghost, I went to a supposed haunted place called Domaine de Tanais in France to find inspiration for my tracks.
released by Cian Orbe in 2017 links:
